Armamar

A Land of Emotions

Armamar is a Portuguese village located in the district of Viseu, also a Douro sub-region, it has a population of about 1400. It is the capital of a county which spans 117.24 km2 and is home to 6297 inhabitants across 14 parishes.

The village of Armamar is located 25 km from Pinhão, or about a half-hour drive.

What to visit?

Visit both Quinta de Nápoles and Quinta Maria Izabel, two wine and historical properties in the city of Armamar.

  • Quinta de Nápoles

    The Quinta de Nápoles (Naples Farm) has references dating back to 1496 and was bought and remodeled by Niepoort in 1987.

    Here, by appointment, one can visit the modern winemaking facilities, including the new Niepoort cellar, an underground cathedral devoted to wine.

  • Quinta Maria Izabel

    Quinta Maria Izabel is located in one of the most privileged areas of the Douro region.

    The property, which spans 130 hectares, is the result of an investment by the JCPM Group, owned by the businessman, João Carlos Paes Mendonça.
