For lovers of Porto and Douro wine

The Douro Valley is the birthplace of Port wine. Classified by UNESCO as a Patrimony of Humanity, the Douro Valley is the birthplace of Port wine and the world’s first Demarcated Wine Region. Wine lovers will need, at least, two nights to be able to explore the entire region and try the different styles that Douro proposes. Where to stay? Nothing more suitable than an old house, now transformed and adapted to a magnificent hotel with comfortable interiors and an incomparable view over the river and the vineyards in Socalcos – or The Vintage House. This experience suggests various wine tastings and adds special conditions when buying wine in the hotel room. There will be no reason not to take your favourite wines as a souvenir of an unforgettable stay at The Vintage House.

Experience includes:

– Two nights’ accommodation in a Room or Suite with panoramic views of the Douro River

– Wine Lover Experience and Picnic, per stay, at Quinta da Roêda (transfer to the estate not included; picnic location subject to weather conditions):
- – Guided tour and tasting of six Croft Port wines: Croft Port Pink & Tonic, Croft Pink, Croft Late Bottled Vintage, Croft 10 Year Old Tawny, Croft 20 Year Old Tawny Port, and Vintage Quinta da Roêda
- – Picnic with Premium Basket
– Audio Tour, per stay, at Quinta do Panascal (transfer to the estate not included):
- – Tour of the vineyards and wine presses with tasting of three Fonseca Port wines: Siroco Dry White, Binº 27, and Tawny 10 Years
– Bar and Restaurant Credit: €25 per room, per stay (food and drinks, except services already included)
- – €25 per stay from November to April (inclusive)
- – €15 per stay from May to October (inclusive)
– 10% discount on wines at The Vintage House shop for purchases over €30
– One cocktail per stay, served at the Library Bar
– Access to the outdoor riverside pool with panoramic views, available from April to October
– Use of the tennis court, including racquets and balls
– Private outdoor parking, subject to availability

Upon booking a Master Suite:

– Mini bar included
– VIP treatment in the room upon arrival

It is recommended that special services included in the Experience be booked at least 2 days in advance to ensure availability.

Classic Room: maximum 1 extra bed or 1 cot (up to 1 child)
Junior Suite or Master Suite: maximum 2 extra beds or 2 cots (up to 2 children)
Children aged 3 to 11 inclusive: supplement of €55 per child, per night
Children’s supplements include the services listed in the Experience but are not automatically calculated at the time of booking; upon prior request, they will be added to your bill at check-out

Cancellation Policies

Credit card presentation is required to guarantee the booking. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise it prior to arrival.

January to March and November to December 2026/27:
Cancellations and amendments are free of charge until 18:00 (Lisbon time) on the 7th day prior to arrival
Non-refundable prepayment of the first night will be charged during the 7 days prior to arrival

April 2026/27:
Cancellations and amendments are free of charge until 18:00 (Lisbon time) on the 14th day prior to arrival
Non-refundable prepayment of the first night will be charged during the 14 days prior to arrival

May to October 2026/27:
Cancellations and amendments are free of charge until 18:00 (Lisbon time) on the 20th day prior to arrival
Non-refundable prepayment of the first night will be charged during the 20 days prior to arrival
